Home  I  Conditions Treated   I  Methods   I  Back Pain   I  Contact/Location   I ICP Article  I  3D anatomy   I  Useful links  I have treated over 14,000 individuals for spinal problems. I have given over 60,000 treatments over a period of 26 years practice.  In these years my knowledge has grown way beyond what I was taught in Osteopathic college and I am still learning more with each year. I have developed a unique range of techniques and treatment framework which can deal with problems where most other approaches and practitioners have failed.

At the clinic I use the famous 'McManus' treatment tables with their unique 'side to side' swinging action. These tables enable me to target problems right down to the tiniest muscles of the spine. Specific articulation of each joint of the spine enables the mobilisation of those tight and often degenerative areas responsible for both the acute and the long term patterns which can blight our lives.  Education of the patient by giving them a direct visual and mechanical understanding of their condition can be a major key to the prevention of a re-occurence.

See the 'Body Garage'  section. Following the initial phase of treatment a certain amount of aftercare is sometimes advised. This is usually in the form of monthly checkups until we can be satisfied that the condition will not return to any degree. This process also helps us to evaluate any habitual factors which may have influenced the development of the initial problem e.g. bad posture, repetitive strain injuries.  I also specialise in Musicians problems and RSI. I have been working in conjunction with the major music colleges for many years.

Have a look at the 'Musicians anatomy' site - click here  A maintenance programme, in the form of a regular ‘45;loosening up’46; session a few times per year is both prudent and very effective in the prevention of further painful episodes. It also improves general health and stamina. Visit my Ergonomics site. Click here to go to Manley Ergonomics.co.uk
